Dam if that smell didn’t take me back! Phew, my goodness indeed it did. Took me back to the first time I ever got a chance to get hands on work in the industry with plants like doing clone work, upkeep, stuff like that. It was amazing and an experience I’ll never forget. That memory is engraved in my mind like words in stone. That smell is one I’ll never forget. Popping open this bag of nuggies from Dr. Ganja just took me down memory lane and I’m loving it. Seeing that they have a nice strain selection, let’s take a look at exactly which one is giving me the chilly thrillies today! We may just go ahead and add it to the collection. After all, smells aside, this is one impressive smoke.
This week, we have Lime OG for the win and boy is it taking home the gold. Assuming you read the above mentioned rants and rambles, this strain smells amazing. It’s got that musky smell overpowering everything which makes sense when we get to talking about what terps are present. It still smells super earthy and hemp-like. Which makes you want to grind it up and get the clouds rolling out. Yet it’s so beautiful, you don’t want to destroy it. Make sure whatever grinder you’re using has a kief catcher because she is frosty.
Let’s talk terps! While the overall terpene count in Lime OG is slightly low when compared to other strains, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t smoke good. Coming in at around 1.5% total, your top ones present are going to be Myrcene, Pinene and Caryophyllene. Three great terpenes for relaxation and relief especially Pinene and Caryophyllene. Myrcene is going to be your top terpene present in this strain. Working to give you the relaxation you need after a long day or just in general. All these terpenes are great together and make one hell of a strain!
Top Terps found Lime OG
Here’s those terpenes again. I know i kind of covered them above. I wanted to list them here individually and show you the benefits how them. Terpenes get overlooked but are very beneficial. You guys are going to start seeing them a lot more around here. Get comfortable!
Myrcene:
- Sedative
- Muscle Relaxant
- Pain Reliever
- Anti-Inflammation
- Enhances the effects of THC
Pinene:
- Anti-inflammatory
- Local Antiseptic
- Bronchodilator (Has the potential to help people with Asthma, COPD)
- Promotes alertness and memory retention
Caryophyllene:
- Antioxidant
- Anti-inflammatory
- gastro-protective
- Beneficial in treatments with Ulcers
- Helps with Arthritis
- Helps with autoimmune disorders and chronic pain
The cannabinoids present are even better. When it comes to cannabis, less is more. I know that sounds weird or maybe hits the ear wrong but it’s true. It’s something I have found out over time. You get better results from something with around 18-20% than something with 24-27%. Not in all cases but for the most part. Overloading your body with cannabinoids doesn’t really do anything. You need a good balance, that’s why I say “start small”. Lime OG is coming in around 18-19% total cannabinoids. With CBD making a good chunk of it, CBG and then of course THC making the others. CBG being in the mix is a good thing given the benefits of CBG. CBG is good for inflammation and pain. Factor in those terpenes that are present with this beauty and you got yourself a powerhouse of a strain.
I found that smoking on Lime OG was good for near the end of the day. It helped calm down the nerves most definitely. Of course the more you toke, the more you slope with this one. It’s good for those “I need to just chill” days too. If you know your schedule has nothing in the foreseeable future or you just need to be as relaxed as possible, toke on this. If you really wanna taste those terps, put this in your dry herb vaporizer. I used my bong for this. I don’t usually pack cones when I’m smoking CBD strains. It’s either the good ole Bong-a-roo or my dry herb vape for the terps. This is one for the vape guys!
The Cupboard is open!
Oh yea, it is! I mean, one is never enough so the doors are open for you to take a look inside at the strains I have picked so far. Don’t worry, I’m adding more and more. Like a fine wine and you bundles of joy, they’re only getting better with time. If you enjoyed this one, give these others a read. You might find a new favorite.
