Being content and living in the present is such a hard thing to do. Nowadays, I’d say it’s dam-near impossible. They say when you’re thinking about or living in the future, that’s living with anxiety. I’m sure most of us can relate. As someone who lives with Epilepsy, I know I can. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think “Is today the day that I have one?” then I ponder on that thought like one big ball ball of anxious energy. I’m sure I’m not the only one in the Epilepsy community that has dealt with this notion. I have learned to deal with this when it comes lurking and what helps me. I want to pass along some helpful tips or rather, tricks and treats. Some you may already know if you have been following and some are new. To my Epilepsy readers, I’m going to start slowly but surely introducing you to some lovely reads that will help in times of need. Out of anyone you may know, this guy definitely can relate to how it feels before, during and after. Anxiety is one of those that while we all can relate, It hits home to my Epilepsy readers and in some cases can be a trigger for seizures. Let’s get relaxed!
Anxiety isn’t something to want yet it’s something we all go through at some point in our life. Unfortunately, for some of us it’s something we have to live with. Antennas up Epilepsy warriors, especially those cruising through this illness with little to no help or thinking there is none. Over the years, I have found a couple of ways to help ease the ole anxiety wagon when it decides to come pulling into the station. Now, if you’re one of my Epilepsy friends but new to the cannabis community, these next few sections are important. While everything is overwhelming to you right now and I’m sure that’s not doing your anxiety any good, hopefully I can extinguish those flames. I’m sure it all looks the same but I can assure you that is also false. To help to give you newcomers some insight, today I want to talk about tinctures, flower, edibles and concentrates. Giving you all these options spans out to a wider demographic although using a multitude of these can help bring balance.
Starting off, I want to bring up tinctures. It’s funny because that’s how I start my day too. Tinctures are great because they can be utilized in so many ways from a sublingual to infusions. I use mine in a variety of ways. From the time my feet hit the floor in the mornings, typically within minutes, I’m doing a half and half of THC:CBD to equal 1mL. It makes for a great way to start the day and helps tremendously with any anxiety that may decide it wants to take hold. Some mornings I substitute the CBD with CBG for some gut issues or I add that to my morning coffee and I have seen a great improvement. You may remember this from Rise n Grind post. If you’re new to the cannabis community, Tinctures may be confusing you right now and that’s okay. This is a normal reaction, just don’t over do it. Start small and work your way up. You may find you don’t even need much. When it comes to cannabinoids and terpenes, less is more actually. Weird, right?
Flower is my absolute favorite and comes in many forms. I guess what I mean by that is you can get many uses out of flower. Of course there’s the obvious smoking, we can vape it and we can cook with it. Just like tinctures, there’s amazing flower strains that you can use to help conquer your anxiety. One thing that will help you understand the best strains would be the report provided with each strain. You always want to look at the terpene and cannabinoid content as these play an important role in all cannabis products across the board but it starts at flower. When it comes to helping alleviate anxiety, we want strains high in Myrcene, Caryophyellene and Pinene. Strains like Critical Mass, Blue Dream and Orange Kush would be good to stimulate your mood and get your day going or help you find relief and unload after a long day. You newcomers are going to want to keep it simple here. Pack a cone or grind up some sweet herb and get some bong rips in. If you really want to taste those terps, put some in that dry herb vape we talked about in that Pulsar post! Speaking of Terpy Derps!
Let’s talk about some concentrates. I deal with anxiety on a daily, obviously. Some days, in addition to my tinctures, I’m also puffing on some sweet terps. That can come in the forms on extracts, cartridges, crumble, it doesn’t matter. Well, actually it does. The last thing you want is to get some shit from the gas station. Next thing you know you are dead in the back alley. I’m kidding, that’s worse case scenario. Another scenario is when you still get from the gas station and think ALL CBD and cannabis products are trash. You NEVER buy cannabis products from the gas station. Get from a licensed dispensary. Getting back on topic. I keep cartridges on me for daily use in addition to my tinctures and flower. While I don’t puff on them back-to-back, I still use them for those mouth watering terpenes. Some I may use throughout the day to stop all those thoughts going a thousand miles an hour or unwind like my Sunset Sherbet cartridge. One puff is great for a social setting and eases your anxiety. Once you start blowing smoke on it though, just start telling your friends and family “Goodnight”. Crumbles are another good choice and the VOLT is right there to help get the job done.
All these are good options for those of us who live and deal with Anxiety. You may think there isn’t a way but there is. These are just some things I use to help without having to go the pharmaceutical route as I already take seizure pills and have been on so many in such a short amount of time. Bare in mind, what works for me may not work for you just like whatever works for you may not work for me. That’s why I say start small until you do find what does. It’s taken me quite some time to find what works for me. I have found that micro-dosing is the absolute best. It’s something I will cover in a later topic. Use these tinctures, flower and concentrates and explore the site! It’s not all about this though guys. You have to be able to explore elsewhere and live but also slow-down and enjoy life. Take a break every now and then and just relax. Smile and have fun while you’re doing it! Thanks for reading. I love you guys! Until next time, stay safe, stay medicated and relax, it’s natural! 🤟🏼💚💜
